Import your Trakt library
Trakt's export is the richest of the lot — it carries per-episode history, so your progress arrives intact rather than as a bare list of show names.
Export from Trakt
- Open Trakt on the web and go to Settings → Account → Data → Export.
- Request the export and download the
.zipit gives you. - Leave it zipped — the importer reads the archive directly.
Import into TV Tracker
- Open the web app or the mobile app and sign in. A ZIP is usually easier to upload from a computer.
- Go to Settings → Import data.
- Choose Trakt, or leave Auto-detect on.
- Upload the ZIP and let it match your titles against TMDB.
- Review the three groups — matched, needs review, skipped — then Import selected.

You don't have to choose one or the other. Importing doesn't touch your Trakt account, and TV Tracker doesn't sync back to it. Plenty of people keep Trakt for the community and use this for the day-to-day "what's next" question.
Common questions
Will importing create duplicates if I run it twice?
No. A second import adds what's missing instead of duplicating what's already there, so it's safe to re-run — or to follow a Trakt export with a Letterboxd one for films.
Does it scrobble like Trakt does?
No. There's no automatic detection of what you're playing on a streaming service. Marking watched is a tap. If scrobbling is essential to you, Trakt plus its plugin ecosystem remains the only serious option and we'd rather tell you now.
My Trakt ZIP failed to import.
