Bring your watchlist with you
Switching trackers usually means retyping years of history. It doesn't have to. TV Tracker reads the export files the other services produce — free, and with a review step before anything is written.
Imports are free. There is no paid tier to unlock them. You do need a free account, because your library is stored against it so it can sync between your phone and the browser.
Pick where you're coming from
TV Time
Shut down in July 2026. Importable only if you saved an export ZIP first.
Trakt
Full history including watched episodes. Export is always available.
IMDb
Watchlist or ratings CSV. Titles only — no episode history.
Letterboxd
Films, from the ZIP or a diary / watchlist CSV.
Showly
Settings → Backup / Export, then upload the .json.
Includes watched episodes.
Refract / TV Time Out
Upload the export .zip containing
media.csv and episodes.csv.
Not on that list? A generic CSV works if it has columns
along the lines of mediaType, tmdbId,
title, season, episode,
status. A JSON file works if its items carry
tmdbId, title or episodes. You can
leave the source on Auto-detect and let the app work out
the format.
How the import works
- Open Settings → Import data and sign in if you haven't.
- Choose the source, or leave Auto-detect selected.
- Upload the ZIP, CSV or JSON you exported.
- Wait for parsing and matching. Titles are matched against TMDB, so naming differences between services usually resolve themselves.
- Review the result: matched, need review (several candidates fit — you pick), and skipped.
- Tap Import selected. Only then is anything written.
Nothing is overwritten silently. The review step exists because automatic title matching is never perfect — remakes and same-name series are the usual culprits. If a match looks wrong, fix it before committing.

Common questions
Do I need to install the app to import?
No. The web app at app.tv-tracker.uk has the same importer, and uploading a ZIP from a computer is usually easier than from a phone. Sign in there with the same account and the result syncs to your devices.
Can I import more than once?
Yes. Importing again adds what's missing rather than duplicating what's already there, so it's safe to run a second file — a Trakt export for shows and a Letterboxd export for films, for example.
The importer choked on my file. Now what?
Send it to support@tv-tracker.uk. Real exports vary more than the documented formats suggest, and a failing file is the fastest way for us to fix the parser. Please mention which service produced it.
Is my import data used for anything else?
No. It becomes your watchlist, nothing more. There are no ads, no subscription and we don't sell your data — see the privacy policy.
